The 10th World Multidisciplinary Congress on Earth and Environmental Sciences (WMCEES 2026) was held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, from September 7 to 11, 2026.

The “Environmental Engineering II” session was chaired by Giorgi Leluaishvili, a Researcher at the Grigol Tsulukidze Mining Institute, while the “Geochemistry, Geophysics & Seismology, Modelling and Soft Computing in Earth Sciences” session was chaired by - Head of the Laboratory, Chief Researcher Giorgi Nozadze.

The following scientists from the institute gave oral presentations:

1. "Numerical Analysis of the Magnetic Flux Leakage Field Induced by Internal Defects in Longitudinal Ferromagnetic Structures" - გიორგი ნოზაძე (co-authors: Nikoloz Chikhradze, Giorgi Leluashvili, Giorgi Chikovani ; 

2. "New Reliable, Efficient, and Cost-Effective Cathodic Protection System" - Giorgi Leluashvili (co-authors: Nikoloz Chikhradze and Levan Leluashvili).

On August 18, 2026, the LEPL Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announced the final results of the 2026 Targeted Grant Call for Science Popularization.
20 projects were selected for funding, including one from the LEPL Grigol Tsulukidze Mining Institute: 

SPG-26-261 "Saturday School" Path to Mining Science, Popularization of the Mining among Future Generations".

RMG established the Miners’ Professional Day in 2019,  which is celebrated every year on December 17.

At the event, RMG's General Director Joni Shubitidze awarded outstanding miners of 2024-2025. Over the past 6 years, the company has awarded 43 distinguished employees.

This year, the company established the “Distinguished Miner Award” for exceptional contributions to the development of the mining industry. The award was presented to Academician Levan Japaridze.

To mark the 50th anniversary of production, RMG's Corporate Director, Kakhaber Mchedlishvili, presented two company-initiated projects to guests and employees. The first project is related to the revival of the tradition of wearing a miner’s costume, which has been forgotten. Designer Anuka Keburia created a new ceremonial miner's costume, which guests could view in the White Hall at the event. The second large-scale project involves the commencement of work on a monument dedicated to the mining profession, designed by sculptor Valeri Jikia. Through a holographic presentation, he shared the idea and sketch of the monument with the miners and guests at the event.

She presented a poster presentation entitled “Synthesis and Study of Poly (ester Urea)-pseudo Proteins with Enhanced Mechanical Strength”. The research was carried out with the financial support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia (#FR-23-9113). The conference was held on the November 17-20, 2020, in Cebu City, Philippines.

On September 25, 2025, the 11th International Scientific-Practical Conference on Up-to-date Problems of Mining and Geology was held in Building III of the Georgian Technical University, organized by the Georgian Technical University, G. Tsulukidze Mining Institute, the Mineralogical Society of Georgia, and the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, and supported by the RMG Rchich Metal Group: “THE DEVELOPMENT OF MINING AND GEOLOGY IS THE PRECONDITION FOR THE REVIVAL OF ECONOMY”.

The conference was attended by Jürgen Kretschmann, Adjunct professor Adjunct professor of the RWTH Aachen University of Technology, and Dr. Birgit Müller, Managing Director of the Landesforschungszentrum Geothermie at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

The topic of prof. Jürgen Kretschmann presentation was: “Decarbonization and Circular Economy”.

On September 2-6, 2024, An Eco-friendly Congress "CAUSummit 2024" - World Summit from EARTH to URBAN - for Safe & Sustainable Cities: Civil Engineering - Architecture - Urban Planning Congress - was held in Antalya, Turkey.

The G.Tsulukidze Mining Institute Director Prof. Nikoloz Chikhradze was the Chairman of the session "Mining, Blasting, Noise & Vibration Control".

The oral presentation "MANUFACTURING AND TESTING OF A NEW COLUMN-TYPE FLOTATION CELL TO PRODUCE CONCENTRATE FROM POOR ORES CONTAINING GOLD AND SILVER" was made by Institute Researcher Mamuka Bagnashvili.

The Poster presentation "EVALUATION OF STABILITY OF SOME LANDSLIDE BODIES BY NUMERICAL-ANALYTICAL METHOD" was presented by N.Chikhradze.

Accepted papers of the congress will be published by a prestigious publisher that fully compatible with WoS and Scopus requirements, and will be submitted for indexing to the prestigious database (Web of Science, Scopus, etc.).

A Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Academies of Mining Sciences of Georgia and Mongolia at the session of the Presidium. From the Mongolian side the Memorandum was signed by the country's first president, currently the president of the Mongolian Academy of Mining Sciences, Professor P.Ochirbat.
